In this article, I will explain about Japanese mochi.

What Is Japanese Mochi?

Mochi is a sticky food made by steaming and pounding glutinous rice.

It is one of the staple foods of Japan.

By itself it does not have much flavor, so it is seasoned or cooked and eaten.

I love the chunky texture of it!

How Mochi Is Eaten

  • Isobe-yaki

    • Kinako mochi

These are the main ways it is eaten in Japan.

    Beware of choking

It is very sticky and in Japanchoking accidents occur every year.

When eating, chew your food little by little and thoroughly.

Elderly people and children should be especially careful.

I once choked on it as a child.

    Final Thoughts
